Why this site exists

I got tired of guides written by people who'd never been there

Around The Atlas started as notes I kept for myself — real costs, routes that actually worked, gear that survived. After 86 countries and three eight-thousanders, it turned into something worth sharing. Every guide on this site is written from a trip I've actually taken, not assembled from other people's blog posts.

The name is a nod to the Atlas Mountains — the first real mountains I ever climbed, and the moment "travel" turned into "expeditions" for me.
